Valmet Fiberline Analyzers to boost Södra Cell Mörrum quality

Södra Cell Mörrum in Sweden.

Valmet will supply two Valmet Fiberline Analyzers to Södra Cell Mörrum in Sweden, supporting the mill’s efforts to improve process stability and product quality. The analyzers are set to expand the mill’s online measurement capability by providing highly accurate, reliable data that can be used to optimize the performance of both fiberlines.

With precise, high-availability real-time measurements, the new Valmet Fiberline Analyzers are expected to help Södra Cell Mörrum stabilize key fiberline process variables and consistently meet specified product quality targets. The delivery also continues the site’s long-standing use of Valmet’s Kappa analyzer technology, now implemented in its fourth generation at the mill. Cooperation between the two companies began more than three decades ago, when the first Kappa analyzer was delivered to the site in 1994.

“Our latest generation of Valmet FiberLine Analyzers brings enhanced robustness and analytical depth to fiberline monitoring. With this delivery, we are supporting Södra Cell Mörrum in further strengthening the stability of their production process and securing consistently high-quality pulp output. We value the long-term cooperation with Södra and are proud to contribute with our Kappa analyzer technology that supports their continuous development,” says Roger Holmedahl, Senior Sales Manager, Automation Solutions, Valmet. Delivery is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.

The Valmet Fiberline Analyzer supports stable, accurate and continuous fiberline monitoring through a dual cabinet architecture and a dual-chamber measuring system, enabling high-frequency measurements for reliable process control. By providing real-time data on Kappa number, brightness, and fiber and shives characteristics, the system supports timely process adjustments aimed at improving operational efficiency, maintaining consistent pulp quality and strengthening long-term fiberline performance.
