Toscotec will supply a new tissue line, PM7, to Grigeo Group’s facility in Grigiškės, near Vilnius, Lithuania. This repeat order marks an important milestone in a partnership of more than 15 years between the two companies, following the successful installation of the PM6 tissue line in 2013 and earlier projects involving Yankee Dryers and Hood replacements on other machines within the Group.
The new tissue line, with a daily production capacity of up to 250 tons, represents a strategic investment by Grigeo Group to double its paper production while reducing energy costs. It has been designed with Toscotec’s advanced technology to lower environmental impact, particularly by decreasing gas and fresh water consumption at the site.
The AHEAD 2.2L tissue machine will feature a paper web width of 5,500 mm and a design speed of up to 2,200 m/min, setting a benchmark in sustainable tissue manufacturing. The configuration includes a TT Headbox with dilution control for optimal sheet formation, a TT NextPress to improve the drying process, and Toscotec’s latest 18-foot Steel Yankee Dryer TT SYD, ensuring efficiency and high performance.
The line will incorporate Toscotec’s Energy Pack solutions, including the TT TurboDryer, which increases post-press dryness by using energy from hood exhaust, and the TT Hood-Duo system with TT Swing technology, which optimizes drying according to production grades. The system has also been prepared for future installation of electric heating batteries, enabling combined use of natural gas and electricity. Additionally, the TT Drying Equilibrium with automatic hood balancing will enhance air system performance by boosting fan efficiency and reducing gas consumption.
The scope of supply also covers a complete Stock Preparation Plant, Water Cycle, broke line from converting, the entire electric plant, and Toscotec’s TT Brain DCS system. A complete Optima 2600 Slitter Rewinder for double sheet width, equipped with two Unwind Stands, an automatic shaft handling system, a dedicated Dust Removal system, and Electrification & Control, completes the package.
“The investment in one of the fastest standard paper machines on the market – PM7 – will enable Grigeo Group to double its hygienic paper production capacity and meet the growing demand in the Baltic, Scandinavian, and Western European markets. PM7 technology will ensure greater production efficiency and flexibility, while strengthening the Group’s position in strategic markets,” said Tomas Jozonis, CEO of Grigeo Group.
“It is with great honor that we embark on Project PM7, bringing our client’s vision to life with our cutting-edge technology for energy efficiency while increasing production. This repeat order from a valued partner – with whom we have cooperated for more than 15 years – demonstrates the depth of our collaboration. Our mission consistently prioritizes customers’ needs, and we are proud to work alongside Grigeo Group on this important initiative to support their growth,” stated Alessandro Mennucci, CEO of Toscotec.
