The Sofidel Group, among the global leaders in the production of paper for hygienic and household use, was once again acknowledged by CDP for its commitment to climate action and to the responsible management of forest resources. In the 2025 disclosure cycle, the Group achieved an A- rating in both the Climate Change and Forests categories, confirming the consistency of its sustainability strategy.
Within the forestry area, where CDP introduced a commodity-based assessment (Commodity Scores) for the first time, Sofidel achieved an A score for Timber, the highest possible rating. This result confirmed the company’s performance in sustainable forest management and in the responsible sourcing of pulp, a key raw material for tissue production.
“These results highlight our rigorous commitment to environmental sustainability. Climate and forests are two fundamental pillars of our policies aimed at reaching carbon neutrality by 2050 and at preserving the integrity of our supply chains,” commented Riccardo Balducci, Group Sustainability Director at Sofidel.
The Sofidel Group has committed, through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050. With regard to forest management, 100% of the Group’s forest-based raw material procurement comes from suppliers certified according to strict environmental, social and economic standards, ensured by independent third-party certification schemes (FSC®, FSC® Controlled Wood and PEFC).
Sofidel is also among the first companies to have joined “Forests Forward”, the multi-stakeholder initiative launched internationally by WWF, aimed at combating deforestation, preserving forest ecosystems and safeguarding the rights of local communities.
In 2025, CDP assessed more than 22,100 companies worldwide, positioning Sofidel among the best-performing industrial groups in terms of transparency and environmental action.
