Sofidel earns CDP Supplier Engagement A rating once again

Sofidel has once again been recognised among global leaders in supply chain climate action, achieving the highest “A” score in CDP’s 2025 Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA). The result confirms the Italian tissue producer’s place on the CDP Supplier Engagement Leaderboard, which recognises companies demonstrating strong performance in engaging suppliers on climate-related issues and emissions reduction initiatives.

The assessment evaluates five key areas: governance and business strategy, including climate transition planning; supplier engagement on environmental topics; Scope 3 emissions reporting and verification; emissions reduction targets; and climate-related risk management processes. The company highlighted that supplier engagement remains a central component of its sustainability strategy and an important element in achieving its long-term climate objectives.

“We are proud to once again be included in CDP’s SEA Leaderboard. This achievement confirms that, together with our partners, we are moving in the right direction towards the future, and it is even more meaningful in the year in which we celebrate our 60th anniversary,” said Riccardo Balducci, Sofidel Group Sustainability Director.

Sofidel stated that close collaboration with suppliers is essential to achieving its commitment to reach net-zero emissions across its value chain by 2050. The target forms part of the company’s climate strategy developed under the framework of the Science Based Targets initiative and is aligned with the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

The company noted that emissions generated throughout the supply chain represent a significant portion of its overall environmental footprint, making supplier engagement a key lever for long-term decarbonisation.

The assessment was conducted by CDP, the global non-profit organisation that supports companies in measuring, managing and disclosing environmental performance. In 2025, CDP evaluated more than 22,100 companies worldwide.

Sofidel, one of the world’s leading producers of tissue paper for hygienic and household use, continues to focus on reducing emissions throughout its operations and value chain while strengthening sustainability performance across its supplier network.
