Lucart, the multinational paper group behind the brands Tenderly, Lucart Professional, and Grazie EcoNatural, has been awarded the Platinum rating by EcoVadis for the fourth consecutive year. This recognition, the highest level granted by the world’s leading independent agency for corporate sustainability assessments, is achieved by only 1% of the more than 150,000 companies evaluated across 250 industries in 185 countries.
With an overall score of 89/100, four points higher than in 2024, Lucart once again demonstrated its commitment to continuous improvement. The EcoVadis assessment covers four key areas of sustainability: environment, labour practices and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Lucart excelled in all categories, particularly in the environmental area (96/100), as well as in its social responsibility and supply chain management practices. This recognition is especially significant within the paper industry, where Lucart ranks among the top performers thanks to its ability to combine industrial innovation with a strong sustainability focus.
Ongoing Commitment, Signed and Documented
The Group has reinforced its path toward decarbonization by joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with the goal of developing a greenhouse gas reduction strategy based on the most up-to-date scientific evidence, validated by a third-party organization. By the end of 2025, Lucart is expected to present specific reduction targets for direct emissions (Scope 1), indirect emissions from purchased energy (Scope 2), and indirect emissions across the value chain (Scope 3).
In parallel, Lucart has formally signed the AMFORI-BSCI Code of Conduct (Business Social Compliance Initiative), strengthening its commitment to human rights, decent working conditions, and transparency throughout its supply chain. This represents a tangible step toward more responsible growth, aligned with the ethical and sustainability principles guiding the Group’s operations.
As part of its broader strategy, Lucart has also adopted a new Integrated Sustainability Policy, outlining five strategic areas of focus: climate, environment, safety, health and well-being of people, ethical supply chain, and responsible business. This policy reaffirms the Group’s objective of delivering high-quality products while safeguarding natural resources and building a shared, sustainable future with all stakeholders.
A Recognition of Value
“This achievement is a source of pride for all of us and confirms the value of the path we’ve taken,” said Francesco Pasquini, CEO of Lucart. “EcoVadis’ recognition encourages us to continue with determination on our journey toward an increasingly sustainable development model, with a constant commitment to improving our performance and maintaining a long-term vision, in line with what we presented in our latest Sustainability Report.”
The EcoVadis methodology is based on leading international sustainability standards, including the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, GRI standards, the ISO 26000 standard, and the CERES principles (Coalition for Environmentally Responsible Economies).
