Domtar has begun the installation of a new, high-speed tissue converting line at its Calhoun site in Tennessee, a project aimed at increasing operational output, improving efficiency and supporting long-term scalability. The new equipment is intended to better align the mill’s tissue production capacity with its converting capabilities, strengthening overall operational performance to serve the US tissue market more effectively.

The investment is being carried out at Domtar’s Calhoun operation in USA.

To support the new converting line, the mill is also expanding its existing warehouse space for parent tissue rolls. The additional capacity is expected to improve inventory management and provide greater operational flexibility, while also ensuring that the infrastructure can support future business and production needs.

“This investment underscores the Company’s continued commitment to operational excellence and future growth in the US tissue market,” said Tony Sanders, vice president of sales and marketing.

According to Domtar, the upgraded converting technology is designed to elevate product quality in response to increasing marketplace demand, while the expanded warehousing will help ensure adequate space and logistics capacity as operations scale.
