Arkhbum Tissue Group and the Kaluga region signed an agreement on the investment project implementation

The Kaluga Region and the Arkhbum Tissue Group LLC signed an Agreement on the implementation of an investment project for the construction of the second and third lines of a plant for the production of sanitary and tissue paper and products from it.

According to Irina Galakhova, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Arkhbum Tissue Group, and Alexander Tufanov, Director of the plant, who signed the agreement for and on the behalf of investor, the shareholder and the company’s management highly appreciate the activities of the Kaluga Region administration in creating a favorable investment environment in the region: “With the support of the regional administration, we are successful built and launched the first line of Arkhbum Tissue Group, – noted the management of the plant, – now at SPIEF we have presented our investment plans for the future, based on successful experience.”

Irina Galakhova said that the project for the construction of the second and third lines of “Arkhbum Tissue Group” is at the most active stage of implementation. At the end of April 2021, the company and Valmet AB officially signed a contract for the supply of technological equipment for the paper machine no. 2 (PM-2) with a capacity of 70 thousand tons of commercial products per year. Thanks to this, the output will double and reach 140 thousand tons per year. The commissioning of the second machine is scheduled for November 2022. The total amount of investments in the implementation of the second and third lines of “Arkhbum Tissue Group” will amount to more than 20 billion rubles.

The third line of the plant will increase the capacity of “Arkhbum Tissue Group” up to 210 thousand tons/year. The number of employees will increase by 299 up to 685. The completion date of this project is the end of 2024.

Vladimir Krupchak, Investment Director of Pulp Mill Holding, said that the strategic goal of Arkhbum Tissue Group is to take a leading position in the sale of sanitary and tissue products under the Soffione brand at the Russian market.
