Northwood acquires mill and converting assets from Kimberly-Clark sites in Flint and Coleshill

Northwood confirmed that its shareholders and directors had acquired the full mill and converting facility at Kimberly-Clark’s Coleshill site, together with the Flint site of Kimberly-Clark Personal Care.

The parties completed the sale and purchase of the 98-acre property and fixed assets, which include a 30,000-tonne tissue mill, a tissue converting plant producing both rolled and folded products, a National Distribution Centre, as well as the Flint factory. The Flint operation is equipped with advanced converting equipment dedicated to the production of wet wipe products designed to meet current environmental and compliance requirements.

Following completion, the site was set to operate as Northwood Tissue (Flint) Ltd and to be integrated into Northwood’s Away-from-Home (AfH) and Consumer divisions. The acquisition was positioned as a complementary step to Northwood’s existing footprint, with the location and scale of the assets intended to support further growth.

Northwood indicated that the tissue mill and related operations would expand the group’s capabilities across AfH and consumer markets, enabling product range extensions and a broader value chain approach, from production through converting and distribution.

With the transaction now completed, the integration phase moved toward aligning operational systems to support a phased start-up. Northwood also announced plans to begin recruitment, with the intention of creating a significant number of job opportunities in the local area.

Paul Fecher, founder and Chairman of Northwood, commented: “This is another important acquisition and brings renewed opportunity for our businesses to expand in many traditional and new sectors. We look forward to populating the site and bringing it into full production under our UK management and ownership.”
