Valmet to support Faderco Group in doubling tissue capacity with third Advantage DCT line

Valmet announced that Algerian tissue producer WARAK, a subsidiary of Faderco Group, will continue its partnership with Valmet by investing in a state-of-the-art Advantage DCT 200TS tissue line, combined with an extensive automation package. The investment represented WARAK’s third tissue line order from Valmet and is expected to significantly boost capacity while setting new benchmarks for efficiency, sustainability and product quality in Northern Africa.

The new tissue line will be installed at Faderco Group’s new mill in Mostaganem, Algeria, and is expected to double the company’s total tissue production capacity. The project will add approximately 65,000 tonnes per year of high-quality tissue paper, serving both domestic demand and export markets.

Valmet’s Advantage DCT 200TS solution integrates the latest technologies in stock preparation, tissue making and automation. For tissue producers, this translates into reduced energy and water consumption, stable high-quality output and comprehensive operational support throughout the production lifecycle.

Commenting on the investment, Amor Habes, CEO of Faderco Group, stated: “Energy and water efficiency are critical in our region, and Valmet’s technology has already proven its performance across our previous installations. Our existing tissue machines operate with low water consumption, and the flexible Advantage ViscoNip press has demonstrated its ability to reduce energy use while enhancing paper quality. These technologies directly support our ambition to expand our international footprint, by enabling reliable, high-quality production for demanding export markets across Southern Europe, the UK, and Africa. We look forward to scaling these benefits with the new line.”

From Valmet’s side, Kent Nika, Sales Director at Valmet, commented: “We’re proud to continue the journey with Faderco Group. This new line will bring more sustainable production that helps our customers stay ahead in a competitive market.”

The start-up of the new tissue line is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

Technical information

The new tissue machine line will feature a machine width of 5.6 metres and a design speed of 2,200 m/min. Once operational, it will add 65,000 tonnes of tissue paper per year to the Group’s existing production capacity.

Valmet’s scope of delivery will include a complete tissue production line, comprising a stock preparation system, the Advantage DCT 200TS tissue machine, two Focus rewinders and auxiliary systems. The delivery will also include a comprehensive automation package featuring the Valmet DNA Automation System for both process and machine controls. In addition, Valmet will provide complete mill engineering, installation supervision, training, start-up assistance and commissioning services as part of the overall project scope.
