Tissue paper industry
The range of products for the tissue paper converting industry includes log saw blades (for all OEMs and diameters), CBN grinding wheels (in-house production), lubrication systems, perforation and anvil knives (for all types of machines), core cutting knives, blade guards, stainless steel doctor blades, packaging knives, as well as knives for sheet products such as towels, napkins and handkerchiefs.

TKM GmbH is well known for its high-quality log saw blades and is currently able to produce blades for all machine types, with diameters up to 1,200 mm. Each TKM log saw blade is inspected and measured with the most modern and automated inspection equipment available.
The most critical values, axial and radial run-out, are engraved on each blade for customer reassurance. For every log saw blade, an internal protocol is maintained for future traceability.

Unique coating of TKM log saw blades
The friction between the log saw blade and the tissue paper rolls (especially AFH or Jumbo rolls) often causes significant heating of the blade, limiting the number of cuts per minute and, consequently, machine productivity. TKM has developed a metal-based coating that significantly reduces the friction coefficient between the blade and the paper roll. As this coating has a higher hardness than the blade steel, it never wears away. The unique coating improves machine productivity and cutting quality, ensuring longer lifetime and greater efficiency.
TKM Service – customer support and training
Achieving the best possible cutting quality and blade lifetime is a primary goal for every customer. TKM supports this goal through a two-part training program:
- Technical workshops on cutting applications
